Stamford English Language Centre (SELC) is established to cater to the needs of secondary school students, college students as well as working adults. Students can attend the courses on full-time or part-time basis at the centre. As for group employees of corporate clients, courses can be customised and conducted either at SELC or the client's premises. |

This programme is designed to help students improve their proficiency in English through interactive lectures, practical exercises, workshop sessions and self-access activities using language lab. The programme is offered at five levels:
Upon enrolment, students will be given a placement test and assigned to a level appropriate to their abilities. |

| English Language Proficiency Course (ELPC) | |
|
This is a full-time course for post-secondary school students. This course is specially tailored to the needs of students who wish to improve their proficiency and fluency in the English language, so that they can:
This course is proven to be particularly beneficial for international students who come from non-English-speaking countries. It is also useful for post-secondary school Malaysian students who are weak in the English language as it prepares them sufficiently well for their entry into university and college courses. There are 3 levels for this course. Based on their performances the Proficiency Test, students are placed in the Level 1, Level 2 or Level 3. Those with a very basic command of the English Language are placed in Level 1 and will continue to Level 2 and Level 3. Those with moderate command of English are placed in the Level 2 and continue to Level 3. Those with good command of English are placed in Level 3.
Each level consists of 15 weeks of study and 2 weeks (3 weeks in Dec) of semester break.

| Course Content | |

The course engages students in activity-based and process-oriented lessons that will develop, extend and enhance a range of skills. These include speaking, listening, reading and writing. These skills will be taught in an integrated as well as inter-linked manner. Students will be required to investigate areas of study that they are interested in and interview people and conduct research on their chosen topics. During the course, guidance and practice will be given on several skills such as note-taking, holding discussions, giving oral presentation, reading for research and report writing Excursions will be organised to places in and around Kuala Lumpur, and students will be given ample opportunities to interact with others, especially the public, in English. They will also be required to collect data and information for their assignment. Special features of this course include:
