Dato' Haji Abdul Halim bin
Abdul Samad has been the Executive Chairman of Stamford College
Bhd since 1 October 1999. He has held various posts, namely,
Education Officer in Kelantan, Special Officer to the Deputy
Education Minister in 1981, Principal Personal Secretary to
the Deputy Education Minister, Senior Confidential Secretary
to the Minister of Education in 1984 and Principal Private
Secretary to the Minister of Youth, Culture and Sports in
1986, Minister of Defence in 1990 and Minister of Education
in 1995. Dato' Haji Abdul Halim is on the board of several
other private limited companies in Malaysia. |
 Dato' Chan Wing Mee (President)

Dato' Chan Wing Mee was appointed as President
of Stamford College Bhd in May 2001. He is the founder,
Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of the General Industries
Sdn. Bhd. Group of companies since 1988. A graduate of the
University of Malaya, Dato' Chan is involved in education,
iron and steel, housing development and other industries.

Mr. Andrew Choo
(Chief Operating Officer)

Mr. Andrew Choo is the Chief
Operating Officer of Stamford College.
He obtained his B.Sc (Hons) from the University of
Malaya and his LL.B (Hons) from the University of London.
In 1992, Mr. Choo gained the Certificate in Legal Practice
and was called to the Malaysian Bar in 1997. He was a quality
control engineer in a multinational semiconductor company,
a Senior Police Officer in the Royal Malaysian Police Force
and a Security Manager before joining Stamford. |

Mr. Lim Ah Chong
(Executive Director)

Mr. Lim Ah Chong is the Executive
Director of Stamford College and is a member of the Audit
Committee. He is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Management
Accountants holds a Master of Business Administration
from the University of Malaya. Prior to joining General Industries
Sdn Bhd, Mr. Lim was a Senior Manager with Perwaja Steel for
two years.

Mr. U.K. Menon
(Senior Director, (Special Project)) |
Mr. U.K. Menon is the Senior Director
at Stamford College. He is a Barrister-at-Law (called
to the Bar at the Inner Temple in London in 1972) and Advocate
and Solicitor, Malaya. Mr. Menon graduated with a Masters
in Law (LLM) from Monash University, Australia, in 1980. He
served at the Institute Teknologi MARA from 1974 to 1990,
leaving as Senior Lecturer in Law in the Department of Administration
and Law. Before joining Stamford College, he was an Associate
Director of the Asian Law Centre and Lecturer in Law at Melbourne
University. |

Mr. Leong Kam Soon
(Chief Financial Officer)

Mr. Leong Kam Soon is the Chief Financial Officer.
He is a Fellow of both the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants and Chartered Institute of Management Accountants.
Prior to joining SCB, he worked as Finance Manager for a multi-national company
and was posted to the People’s Republic of China for seven years.
He returned to Malaysia in July 2001 and joined Stamford College Berhad in August 2001 as Deputy Director of Finance.
Prior to the PRC employment, he was an accountant for a subsidiary of a listed plantation group for three years.

 Dr. Chew Sing Buan (Director, Centre for Academic Excellence)

Dr. Chew Sing Buan (B.A. (Hons)
(Malaya), Dip.Ad. Ed. (Dist.), M.Ed., Ph.D.(Manchester)) was appointed Director of the
Centre for Academic Excellence, Stamford College, in 2003. He has spent most of his working life in the field of education.
Before joining Stamford College, he was Professor at the Faculty
of Education and, prior to that, Head of the Department of Social Foundations
in Education and Chairman of the Division of Development
Studies in Education, University of Malaya. He is author of
a good number of books on education and employment. Dr. Chew has
also served as consultant to the World Bank, Unesco, IDRC
and RIHED.

Dr. Chew Tek Ann
(Academic Advisor, School of Business and Marketing) |
Dr. Chew Tek Ann is the Academic Advisor, School of Business and Marketing. A graduate from the University of Malaya, he was awarded a Colombo Plan Scholarship to pursue his Master of Philosophy degree at the University of Sussex, UK and received a sponsorship from the Agricultural Development Council, New York to pursue a Non-degree Graduate Programme at the North Carolina State University, U.S. He obtained his PhD. from Universiti Pertanian Malaysia. He is an academician with more than thirty years of experience, having served as Professor at the Faculty of Economics and Management, Universiti Putra Malaysia. He held various positions in the private higher education industry including the post of Dean in the School of Business and Law, Programme Director and Director of Quality Assurance and Standards Unit of one of the university colleges in the Klang Valley. He was one of the recipients of the Tun Razak Foundation Award for the Best Written Contributions in the Malaysian Economy.

Mr. Lawrence Chew
(Head, School of Economics, Accounting, and Finance) |
Mr. Lawrence Chew Seng Chen
(ICSA, CIMA, AIB, MIA (M), CA (England and Wales)) is
the Head of the School of Economics, Accounting and Finance. His work experience relates to audit and accountancy,
corporate planning and corporate finance. Mr. Chew was the
Chief Internal Auditor of Alliance Bank, Corporate Planner
of the MUI Group and General Manager (Finance and Corporate
Planning) of the Lysaght Group. |

Dr. Chua Tee Tee
(Head, School of Education and Law)

Dr. Chua Tee Tee is the Head, School of Education and Law.
With a certificate from the Malayan Teachers’ Training College, Kirkby, England and a B.A.(Hons)
from the University of Malaya on a Federal scholarship, he completed his M.A. from Columbia
University, New York on a Fulbright Travel Grant and a scholarship from The New York Institute
for Special Education. He received his Ph.D. from the University of Malaya. Dr Chua had served
as a secondary school teacher, an Education Officer with the Ministry of Education and as Lecturer,
Associate Professor, Deputy Dean in the Faculty of Education, and Deputy Dean and Dean in the
Institute of Advanced Studies, University of Malaya. Following his retirement from the University
of Malaya, Dr Chua taught at the Singapore Institute of Education and Nanyang Technological
University, Singapore.

Dr. Chan Kok Eng
(Head, School of Continuing Education
and Training)

Dr. Chan Kok Eng (B.A (Hons),
M.A (Malaya), Ph.D (Aberdeen)) is the Head of the School of
Continuing Education and Training. He was a lecturer in
the University of Malaya since 1969 and retired as an Associate
Professor. |

Dr. Kok Kim Lian (Head, Postgraduate Programmes)

Dr. Kok Kim Lian is the Head, Postgraduate Programmes of Stamford College.
Dr Kok graduated with a Bachelor of Arts (First Class Hons) degree in Economics from the University
of Malaya. He was awarded the University Senior Scholarship for his performance in the first-year
and second-year examinations and the University and Department Book Prizes for his overall examination
performance by the University of Malaya. He was then awarded the Merdeka Scholarship by the British
Government and completed a M.Sc degree in Statistics from the London School of Economics and
a Ph.D degree in Statistics from the University of Edinburgh. He joined the Faculty of Economics
and Administration, University of Malaya, as a lecturer and retired as a professor and Head of the
Department of Applied Statistics. Dr. Kok has published about 40 papers in local and foreign journals.
He has also presented more than 40 papers in local and overseas conferences.

Dr Gregory Thong Tin Sin (Head, School of Human Resource Management)

Dr Gregory Thong Tin Sin is the Head,
School of Human Resource Management. He retired from the University of Malaya as Professor
of Business Administration and has served as Chairman in the Division of Business Administration
and Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Economics and Administration, University of Malaya.
A life member of the Malaysian Institute of Human Resource Management and member of the
Institution of Engineers, Malaysia, Dr Thong was also a Visiting Professor to the Graduate
School of International Development and Cooperation, Hiroshima University, Japan.
He was also Head of the Human Resource and Industrial Management Division as well as
Associate Professor in the School of Accountancy & Business at the Nanyang Technological University,
Singapore.

Dr. Arichandran
(Head, School of Engineering)
|
Dr K. Arichandran has been appointed as Head of School of Engineering with effect from 2 January 2008. Dr Arichandran obtained his Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) degree in 1965 and Doctor of Philosophy in 1971 from the University of Malaya. He is a Professional Engineer registered with the Board of Engineers, Malaya and a Senior Member of the IEEE (USA).
Since 1996 he has been involved with the development of Satellite Engineering facilities, designs and systems including installation and commissioning of VHF/UHF/S -band ground station tracking facility and development of the X-Sat micro satellite space bus.
He was also the Academic Visitor (Imperial College, London in 1973), Visiting Scientist, (MIT,Boston, USA in 1979) and Academic Visitor, (University of Sydney in 1986).
Dr Ari has also published extensively in numerous overseas and local journals and conferences.

Dr. Lee Siew Eng
(Head, the North American Programme and A-Level Programme)

Dr Lee Siew Eng (B. Sc Hons (UM), Dip. Ed., M. Ed. (UM), Ph. D. (USM)) is the Head of the North American Programme and the A-Level Programme. Her work experience includes teaching in schools, as well as private and public institutions of higher learning. Dr. Lee has also served as a subject matter expert to the Open University, Malaysia (OUM) and other local universities. Dr Lee had worked as an educational consultant for the World Bank, the Ministry of Education, the Sabah State Government and the Multimedia Development Corporation Sdn. Bhd (MDeC) as well as other private institutions such as Intel. She had presented numerous papers on mathematics education in conferences at local and international levels. Prior to joining Stamford College, Dr Lee was a senior lecturer at the Faculty of Education, University of Malaya.

Mr Matthew Charles Keough (Head, Stamford English Language Centre (SELC))

Mr Matthew Charles Keough is the Head, Stamford English Language
Centre (SELC) effective January 2006. Prior to this appointment, he was a Senior Lecturer in the
SELC and NADP. Matthew has a Bachelor of Economics and Bachelor of Arts from the Adelaide
University, Australia. The B.A. Economics degree was taken with a double major in Economics and
Psychology. The Bachelor of Arts degree was also taken with a double degree in Politics and
Philosophy. Matthew joined Stamford in January 2001. He has a substantial number of years of
teaching experience in large private educational institutions in the Klang Valley.

Mrs. Ngu Yoke Yee (Head, School of Secretarial Studies)

Mrs. Ngu Yoke Yee (ICSA (UK), M.Ed (Deakin)) is the Head of the
School of Secretarial Studies. She has been a lecturer since 1989 and was a Principal of a
local private college in K.L. before joining Stamford College. |

Mrs. Tan Siew Leng (Coordinator of the Stamford School of Hospitality Management)

Tan Siew Leng is the Coordinator of the Stamford School of Hospitality Management. She holds a Diploma in Hospitality Management with Honours which she obtained in 1989 through the American Hotel and Lodging Association (AHLA), USA.
She also holds a Certificate of Specialization (AHLA) in Hospitality Human Resources with Honours in 1994. She is currently doing her Master in Education with Open University Malaysia.
She has a broad spectrum of working experience in Hotels in Malaysia as a Human Resource Manager, Personnel Manager and Training Manager. She additionally has teaching experience having had taught at Stamford College and at the same time being a Lecturer in Charge of the AHLA programme.
Tan Siew Leng has also attended a number of training programmes. In 2007 she attended the Certified Hospitality Trainer progemme by AHLA through MAHTEC and in 2008 a Ministry of Tourism programme on Establishing Quality Hospitality Role Model Institutions. Besides these she also attended programmes on hotel curriculum development, disciplinary procedures, navigating for change, stress management and leadership.
